It's a place where locals gather, share stories, and enjoy good food—all essential elements of a true American diner.

- Breakfast Sandwiches: Savor the classic Ham and Cheese, or indulge in the crispy BLT, served with one of many delightful sides like mashed potatoes or fresh vegetables.
- Signature Dinners: Treat yourself to the Country Fried Steak or Pork Chops, both plated with mashed potatoes and the veggie of the day, perfect for a fulfilling meal.
- Signature Sauces: Elevate your dish with housemade sauces like the smoky BBQ or tangy Buffalo sauce—each offering a burst of flavor to complement your meal.
As noted by Mike Nolen, the service here is commendable. His experience was filled with humor and warmth, and that sentiment echoes in reviews from others who have found themselves charmed by the locale. Daniel Allen praised the fried fish and echoed excitement over the “out-of-this-world” hush puppies—a must-try, as many would agree!
Breakfast is a highlight, with longstanding favorites like biscuits and gravy that keep loyal patrons returning, as described by a satisfied regular, Heather Short. The fact that many diners find their portion sizes generous enough for leftovers only solidifies The Black Eyed Pea’s reputation for great value.
In a location that may appear inconspicuous, the experience is anything but ordinary. With the quaint charm and a menu filled with American classics, you're not just having a meal—you're making memories with family and friends. So if you find yourself in Dade City, take the turn off US-301 and visit The Black Eyed Pea; this restaurant is indeed worth the detour!

It's a small location. I don't think it has anything to do with the chain. The food was good. The service was great! Our server was kind, conversational and had a good sense of humor.

Small, inconspicuous location, but big on portions and flavor. I enjoyed a ham club with french fries and sweet tea. The staff were pleasant as well. Highly recommend and will visit if I'm back in the area again.

The shrimp and haddock fish dinner plate were delicious. However, the hush puppies were out of this world. We ended up order extra hush puppies for the hour ride back home. The family that runs the restaurant were so friendly and welcoming. It is totally worth the drive from Seffner to Dade City to eat. See you all soon.

It was breakfast hours however I was allowed to order from the lunch menu which was great for me! My husband had breakfast and I had grilled chicken sandwich with fries!
